Reposting in light of the recent passing of James Earl Jones, a fascinating actor with a fascinating life story. Being one of the few black actors of that generation, he would have needed to be special to cut through the crowd.

Alan Weiss had midtown NYC production offices when I lived there. I rented one of those offices for my Avid cutting system and we’d trade services. Alan was originally a news producer at ABC and was the journalist who broke the story of John Lennon’s murder. Alan’s first hand experience in the hospital that December night is a main storyline in the feature film “The Lennon Report.”
