Breakfast in Turkey Revisited

My second book, Travelling Freelancer, focuses on a period of ten to twenty years in film working and living in Turkey, as well as in the USA. I recently travelled to Antalya to get a couple of implants, which are now finished after a second visit. The trip reminded me of why I enjoy the company of Turks so much, extremely personable and real. So it was fascinating to re-experience the culture I spent so many years living and working in, mainly in commercials, despite the occasional physical demands of dental surgery.
I’ve pretty much finished a new book about experiences working as a Travelling Freelancer: Journal of Creative Exploration. However, as I have lost my talented editor, Petre Schmidt, due to a stroke, it’s on hold at least for the time being. My sense is that a lot of the issue is about teamwork and the issue of self-editing, a problem with democratisation of technology: what is your real ‘speciality’ focus or expertise?
Something Petra, among others, always urged me to pursue, because I have a distinct voice, is to create audiobooks of my work, which is something I am now working on, in anticipation of releasing Travelling Freelancer.
Another key interest of mine, apart from music, is software and particularly social apps. The latest beta model, below, is voice recognition software which allows users to program filters to automute the voices of their least favourite speakers or politicians as soon as they come on the radio, the internet or maybe podcasts.
